Catherine of Valois or Catherine of France (27 October 1401 – 3 January 1437) was Queen of England from 1420 until 1422. A daughter of King Charles VI of France, she married King Henry V of England and was the mother of King Henry VI. Catherine's marriage was part of a plan to eventually place Henry V on the throne of France, and perhaps end what is now known as the Hundred Years' War. But, although her son Henry VI was later crowned in Paris, the war continued.

After Henry V's death, Catherine's unexpected marriage to Sir Owen Tudor helped lead to the rise of the House of Tudor's fortunes and to her Tudor grandson's eventual elevation to the throne as King Henry VII of England.

Sir Owen Tudor (Welsh: Owain ap Maredudd ap Tudur, c. 1400 – 2 February 1461) was a Welsh courtier and the second husband of Queen Catherine of Valois (1401–1437), widow of King Henry V of England. He was the grandfather of Henry VII, founder of the Tudor dynasty.

Enric V va ser rei d'Anglaterra des del 1413 fins al 1422. Nascut al Castell de Monmouth, a Gal·les, era fill d'Enric de Bolingbroke, que esdevindria Enric IV, i de Maria de Bohun, de tan sols 16 anys. Els seus dots de guerrer i estrateg van ajudar el seu pare a combatre els seus oponents.

El seu casament amb Caterina de Valois, la filla del rei de França, pretenia unificar les corones anglesa i francesa, però Enric V morí quan el seu fill Enric VI era sols un infant i les hostilitats de la Guerra dels Cent Anys prosseguiren.
